For those of you that haven’t jumped on the Windows 7 bandwagon, there are many different features that Windows 7 has that you should be aware of. It may just give you that last little push into getting Windows 7.

First, one great feature is the thumbnail preview. With this tool, you are able to hover your mouse over any of the application icons on the taskbar and look at a real time picture of the window. Also, when you use this with Windows Media Player, you are able to change tracks and manage the music currently playing. This is a great tool for managing your desktop and has been significantly improved over the Vista version.

Another great feature that Windows 7 has is Aero Snap. With this, you won’t have to worry about trying to resize your windows perfectly. If you want to have two windows open side by side, simply click and drag one window completely to the left, and drop it. Then do the same with the right. Then you will have two perfectly sized windows on the same screen. You can also maximize a window by dragging it to the top of the screen, and minimize it by dragging it to the bottom of the screen. It’s a great way to quickly and easily manage the windows on your desktop.

Lastly, let’s take a look at a really fun and still useful function that Windows 7 has. It’s called the Aero Shake. By clicking the left mouse button on an open window and shaking it back and forth, you are able to minimize every other window on your screen and you’re then left with just the original window open. It’s great when you just get too many things open and need to simplify a bit. I just wish it would work with my actual desk as well!
